Genus is Windows based software that can be run on a PC. It is not currently available for Android systems.
With the software, there are no PDF forms to fill. The program collects information through a series of Modal Dialog Interfaces.
Genus has electronic filing capabilities for attorneys with a log in to the Bankruptcy Courts NexGen CM/ECF and will automatically upload all forms, petitions, mailing matrix, and summaries that are required and save all client information in case specific folders.
Genus is geared towards the professional bankruptcy petition preparer or law firm. A certain amount of understanding in the bankruptcy system is presumed. It allows the professional to change input across multiple forms without requiring the preparer to tediously cross check the pdf forms every time the client wants to change the amount of a debt or add a new creditor. Genus has one touch ECF capabilities for courts using case upload, and for those that require a new case to be filed through the open new case procedure. The purpose of the program is speedy preparation of bankruptcy papers not legal assistance for consumer self filers.
Genus does not currently have a walk through interface for individual filers.
